Minimalist Pixar

I love Pixar films and I had the idea to do an entire series based on their movies. The movies listed are those that have been made, those that will be released soon (Brave & Monsters University) and one that was cancelled (Newt)

Inception - Saul Bass

From Digital Art

As stated before, Saul Bass is one of my favorite graphic designers of all time. Plus, INCEPTION is just an epic movie. Because it is good to get practice doing vector tracing, I found this poster online and decided to vector trace it so I can print it for myself :)

Demon Hunter

From Digital Art

Demon Hunter was one of the very first metal bands I ever got into and they still remain one of my favorites bands anywhere. They have made such an impact on music, even the Christian music scene. Their 10 year anniversary is coming up next year so I made this little tribute poster in Illustrator to show my support as a Hunter.

From Digital Art

Just killing time again at work…and still obsessed with recreating letterpress posters on photoshop so I did my best. Found this real poster online and tried to recreate it, even down to it looking like it is actually imprinted in the paper behind it. I have to write down this process so I can remember and then make whatever I want now! Remember, I didn't originally make this poster. I was just trying to recreate the real life counter part on Photoshop.

Roses are Red....Violets are Blue

From Digital Art

I was bored so I put this together on Photoshop. I have become obsessed with doing LetterPress prints, and even though I can’t exactly make real letterpress stuff right now, I can get a similar type of effect digitally.

Plus this is probably my favorite line from (500) Days of Summer

Keep Calm And Make Art

I always love these posters. A little history lesson, these were first posted around Britain during WWII.
Many people have made up their own versions so I decided to make mine. All of these are hand printed by me and each one is just slightly different than the other. Each one has its own...personal touch you could say :)

Misfits

was introduced to this British television show called MISFITS and I must say that it is one of the most entertaining shows I have ever seen. So much good writing and no unnecessary fluff just to fill a show. To put it simply, it is a much better, British version of Heroes.

Saving Private Ryan

In honor of the 67th anniversary of D-Day, I created this simple poster based off the 1998 film, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.

To understand the concept, the film is about 4 brothers who go into combat and the 3 oldest are killed in action. The youngest is reported missing and a battalion of troops is sent to rescue him and return him home. In military terms, any family that has members in the armed services will have a banner with a star representing each member. Blue star means that they are enlisted and possibly fighting. Gold star means they were killed in action so I tried to reflect that idea into the story of the film.

The TOY STORY Trilogy

In one of my classes, Digital Imaging, we were asked to created three pieces of work with a relating subject between each piece. So in this case, I immediately thought of Toy Story. So in this way, I wanted to create simple, effective posters for each movie. You will notice that the focus of each poster is just on Woody and Andy, and if you pay attention, there are clues into the plot of each movie based on what is displayed in front of you.

I seriously pulled an all-nighter to get these done and have them printed for class on Monday, but it was worth it :)

And another strategic move by me...all the pieces are connected in the background so it all flows together :) when I determine a price for each one, it would be fun to purchase all three so that you can piece them together like a puzzle and you have the entire trilogy in 3 posters :)

I will let you all know when I will put a price on each poster. i will possibly give a discount price if you buy all three at once. :)

Teaser...Final Project

From Digital Art

This is a preview of my Final Project for Digital Imaging. We are required to create a Triptych (a work of three pieces of art relating to one subject). I'm sure you can all guess what it is, but I am very excited to finish this.

Block Printing

This is one of my new favorite mediums of art, but it is also one of the more difficult to make because it requires many hours of cutting and inking. But the results can be quite outstanding, plus the fact that you can recreate an amazing piece in seconds with your own linoleum block stamp. Here are few prints that I have made. The "V For Vendetta" mask and the "Carl Fredericksen" piece are for sale, since I have multiple prints of them, however, the Batman and Rorschach prints are not since I only have one print of each for now.

Paradise Falls

From Painting

Now if many of you don't know, I am a HUGE fan of any Pixar movie. My favorite by far is Toy Story, but UP is a VERY VERY CLOSE second. I just love all the beautiful animation in the movie, but I always enjoy the scene in the beginning when Ellie is painting Paradise Falls above their fireplace. So I thought I would take the chance to do the same. Now I didn't paint it above my fireplace, but rather on something easier such as watercolor paper. I can't say that this is an original piece, nor is it for sale, but I just wanted to show it to you and see what you all think of it. This is one of my favorite watercolor paintings :)

Hogwarts Castle

From Drawing

Now if you thought Sleeping Beauty's Castle was tough, let me introduce you to the other famous castle in our word today. Last July, I got the opportunity to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. Seeing Hogwarts Castle standing off in the distance, looming over the whole area was just amazing. The detail on this entire place was surreal and it felt like you WERE ACTUALLY THERE. I took a picture of all of Hogwarts so I would never forget it. I decided to test myself yet again and draw Hogwarts Castle in Ink and Marker and I enjoyed how this one came out as well.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle

From Drawing

I love Disneyland and everything in it. Going to Disneyland so much over my life makes it feel like a second home to me. I can go there with an annual pass and just relax if I want to. Ride my favorite rides, eat an awesome lunch, or just read a good book with the sounds of roller coasters in the background. I decided to really push myself into drawing a tough subject: the castle at Disneyland. This was tough because it was freehanded with pen and ink, and then colored over with marker. At first, I didn't want to do it because I thought it would look terrible, but I persisted and it came out looking great! Definitely one of the best drawings I have ever done.

Deathly Hallows

From Digital Art

I am a big Harry Potter fan and I thought I would make this simple, but effective poster promoting, mainly, the last movie (Deathly Hallows Part 2) which will come out on July 15th! I can't believe it is going to be over!

I am just a huge fan of this group, led by actress Zooey Deschanel. She is my celebrity wife...just thought I would point that out.

Intimidation

From Digital Art

I created this print expressing my feelings about how many people feel towards art today. People don't like to go to galleries anymore because they believe that they have to be some high-brow intellectual who knows exactly what a painting is. My opinion is completely different. I am still intimidated by galleries, but the beauty of art is that it is all about interpretation. There should not be any right or wrong. It is all about what YOU feel, not what SOMEONE ELSE feels.

New Art Blog!

Hello everyone! I just created this new blog in order to have a place to add all of my artwork from now on. I still need to get a handle on how to keep all of the work separate and easy to find if you aren't one who likes searching through pages and pages of the blog. So bear with me as I eventually figure this out. Over time, each new piece of artwork will be posted onto the blog, but will also be archived into its proper page, depending on what type of piece it is: Computer design, drawing, or painting.
